FTC is designed for those who want to apply knowledge to a fun hands-on experience and who want to work in a more relaxed setting than FRC. Teams of students are responsible for designing, building, and programming their robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams. The robot kit is reusable from year-to-year and is programmed using a variety of languages. Teams, including coaches, mentors, and volunteers, are required to develop strategy and build robots based on STEM principles. Awards are given for the competition as for well for community outreach, design, and other real-world accomplishments.
FTC Team 3635:
FRC Team 2996 began an FTC team at Coronado High School in its sophomore year, 2010. Intended to be the "JV" team for freshmen, FTC team 3635 helps new high school students adjust to the rigors of robotics. At the moment, team 3635 is not an active team, due to a lack of sufficient student body and mentors capable of the time commitment. We hope to be able to have 3635 up and running in the future!
